Ty Sajaki - I will do my best to continue helping this community the best I can.

You guys do a wonderful job providing software to make our guild communities work better with the games that we play.

hello,
we seem to have had an onslaught of spammers in the previous days, but our defenses seem to be holding up luckily ;)

I noticed a bunch of emails regarding required user account activations. Just for future reference, how do you know if a user is authentic when you need to activate his account?

I have a feeling those were spammers - so many of them. There is a phpbb plugin called Activation Justification you can install that requires them to put their reasons for joining (you can edit the admin emails to show this field).

Also you can make the .htaccess file like a firewall and add a blacklist http://perishablepress.com/5g-blacklist-2013/ <<- I used that on my phpbb site

This blocked a lot of spammers too.

Is this what we have to look forward to for the PBWow layout? It looks amazing and I'm a sucker for snowmen after seeing Frozen. :P

we're currently upgrading to ssl, but there are a few issues yet.

after login you will be forwarded to "http://www.avathar.be/bbdkp:80"

temporary workaround : remove the ":80" manually in the url field.

Is that also the cause of the cookie issue currently on the site? It doesn't let you stay logged in.

It occurred to me that we never actually explained why the domain changed from bbdkp.com to avathar.be.

It's simple, really. I had 2 domains and due to budget constraints, one had to go. So everything moved to avathar.be. so now my yearly hosting cost is down to +/- 60€/year.

I've just updated the board to phpBB 3.1.11 and added a new 3.2 testing area in the "Demo 3.2" link above. you can use a test user "tester" with password "test123".
